Sophie Smekens

I grew up in rural Indiana singing classic rock and church hymns from the backseat of my dad’s pickup truck—passersby always got a kick out of six-year-old-Sophie singing “Smokin’ in the Boy’s Room.” When I found out you could make great music and tell exciting stories, I hopped on the musical theatre bandwagon. Now I’m living it up in Chicago, BFA in hand!

When not on stage I can be found teaching voice, cracking jokes, or making my famous hashbrown casserole.
